Change Public Practice are working with a leading Scottish Accountancy Practice in the Glasgow area to assist with the growth of their team through the appointment of an Accounts Manager. This role would be suit someone who is strong and comfortable at multi-tasking and who also has the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Previous team management experience is also essential for this role. This firm is one the leading Scottish CA practices who have undergone a lot of growth recently and looking into 2020, they have even more exciting growth plans which makes this role a very key appointment within the business. Aside from the exciting plans for the future of the business, this CA firm can also offer a varied role and client base and also a really positive internal working culture. The internal working culture is something that the leaders are extremely passionate about and they ensure that all members of staff feel valued, that they are given on-going training along with a clear development plan and path for progression. Responsibilities will include:
• Proactively manage and maintain client relationships and providing exception services to clients in a timely manner
• Develop business relationships with the aim of attracting new clients to the business
• Support the Partners in servicing clients and in the efficient running of the office
• Assist clients on the set-up of automated accounting systems
• Prepare final accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations
• Attend meetings with clients
• Manage and allocate workflow of the accountancy team
• Identify training needs and providing feedback to the Senior Manager on staff performance
• Identify business opportunities and implementing solutions
• Raise and monitor debtors' positions
• Delegate appropriate to, and review the work of junior members of staff
• Ensure that all deadlines are met
• Complete all administration in a timely manner (including timesheets and fees) to a high standard
• Requirements:
• You will ideally hold a professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACCA or ICAS, however those who are Qualified-by-Experience (QBE) with a strong background in Practice will also be considered and encouraged to apply
• Ideally you will have a strong Practice background and currently be working as an Assistant Manager or Manager in a Public Practice firm i.e. Top10, Mid-Tier CA or Independent CA firm
• Previous team management experience is preferred
• Must have experience of preparing and reviewing accounts to pass for Partner review
• Experience of CCH and Xero would be highly advantageous
• Strong client relationship building skills are essential
