Payroll Processor Our prestigious clients seek a Payroll Processor to support the expanding team with the accurate preparation and provision of client payrolls and reports. The post holder will be expected to be a highly proficient user of Microsoft package, specifically Excel and hold previous experience in payroll software and processing payrolls in an office environment Principle Responsibilities of the Payroll Processor Undertake a range of computerised and manual payroll processing assignments from start to finish on Star Provide excellent customer service, helping to develop and maintain client relationships and reinforce the premium payroll service Actively provide a first point of contact for clients Keep up to date and learn new skills as the client work demands Effectively manage own time on assignments Process Payroll End of Year Returns Assist with queries from clients and internally within the team, providing day to day support to Trainee Payroll Processors as and when required Reconcile and resolve any issues with reference to both the client and to colleagues Control the assignment and record the time spent on tasks accurately and in accordance with client time recording system Assist with payroll processing from other team members allocations Person Specification of the Payroll Processor Work based competencies Demonstrate competent understanding of Star (and other payroll software) and the proven ability to develop that knowledge Proven skills and experience in computerised and manual client payroll processing Previous payroll software experience, preferably Star Demonstrate a basic understanding of PAYE Demonstrate a high standard of competence in processing basic payroll assignments. Demonstrate a competent knowledge of the following: starters, leavers, RTI and EPS Behavioural competencies Professional attitude Confident, articulate and able to communicate with all levels (externally and internally) A team player liaising with all departments within the firm Good at building effective relationships with colleagues, partners and clients Ability to prioritise own workload to meet client deadlines and to manage competing priorities of a varying complexity Ability to follow compliance procedures (i.e. following instructions and makes clear file notes) Self-motivated with a high standard of reliability Good problem solving and self-management skills (clearing queries with clients and suggesting sensible conclusions to queries) Training & Development of the Payroll Processor Potential secondment opportunities Study support subject to completion of probation period CPD programme for part/fully qualified candidates including compliance and broader technical skills training Performance reviews every six months Benefits Package of the Payroll Processor Competitive salary and Benefits Package 20 /25 days Holiday depending on level of qualification (ability to purchase up to 5 extra days annually under flexible benefits scheme) Life Assurance Contributory Pension Scheme Smart Working A relaxed and professional environment Social Activities/Charitable Events Retail Discounts
