This reputable service business has recently restructured and is seeking to recruit a Management Accountant to a new role reporting into the Head of Finance and CEO. The position will play a vital part in ensuring the department continues to deliver accurate and timely financial information and analysis during a period of change. The ideal candidate must be able to use Excel and Sage to a good standard and must have previous experience of the varied duties associated with working in a small finance office. The main responsibilities of the role are: Preparation of the monthly management accounts and commercial reporting Producing budgets and regular forecasting Supporting the statutory accounts preparation and audit Maintaining financial policies and MI systems Balance sheet reconciliations Accruals and prepayments Bank recs, posting and balancing Management of cashflow Debtor / Creditor analysis and ledger management VAT calculation and payment You will be joining a small, friendly team and will be expected to support the finance assistants and provide guidance and motivation to ensure the finance department meets deadlines and remains compliant. The ability to act in a commercial manner and innovate will be important to improve all areas of the business by managing and reducing operational costs and implementing strategies to improve efficiencies. The role combines accounting skills with effective management and concise communication to both financial and non-financial staff. You must be an excellent team player, able to multi-task and manage deadlines. The role would suit someone studying CIMA / ACCA and has excellent potential for development.
