Payroll Bureau Manager We are recruiting a new position for a thriving and busy payroll bureau with a wonderful reputation for offering outstanding services to their client portfolio. This role could be ideal for a Payroll Manager with experience from a similar environment or offer a brilliant opportunity for a Payroll Supervisor to step up. The role will involve managing a small team, as well as maintaining hands-on involvement with the payroll to ultimately ensure all clients payslips are processed accurately across their various frequencies. Your responsibilities will include:
• To plan, organise and control the payroll team to provide timely, high quality services to clients
• Minimise the number of errors by ensuring the payroll systems, processes and internal controls are in place to deliver the highest possible service
• Provide internal communications across departments to make sure appropriate staff members are kept in the loop
• Preparation of weekly and monthly PAYE for clients
• Liaise with HMRC for any PAYE queries
• Respond to client queries and those from third parties in a timely manner.
• File payrolls electronically using appropriate software
• Review payrolls processed by more junior staff.
• Complete team performance appraisals and provide feedback
• Identify any training requirements
• Process the monthly payroll for the business
• Identify any opportunities for the business to expand their payroll services offering
• Be involved and undertake appropriate presentations to clients or to the business when necessary Experience and Qualifications Required:
• Five years of experience within payroll processing including knowledge of statutory rates, year-end procedures & specialist payrolls such as directors payroll
• Payroll or Finance related qualification
• Ideally experience working with Clients payrolls
• Supervisory or Management Experience
• Working with time and attendance systems, payroll
