We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to be part of our Finance team based either in Coventry (CV4 7JJ) or Exeter (EX1 1NT). As a Finance Assistant you will contribute in assisting frontline staff in providing the most effective and efficient service to the children and families that Cafcass serves, whilst still ensuring compliance with Government accounting rules and regulations. You will do this by providing comprehensive financial support service to all of Cafcass including liaison with Finance colleagues, payment providers, suppliers and other Cafcass offices. Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing effective financial processing including raising orders, updating spreadsheets and will also specifically be responsible for; Assisting with the smooth running of the financial system through the processing of invoices and claims ensuring accuracy and compliance with Cafcass procedures. Maintaining and updating External databases in accordance with Cafcass Procedures. Assist with the allocation of costs to the correct offices Arrange internal and external meetings as required, ensuring appropriate facilities are booked for visiting officers and service users Maintaining internal records as required, including input into databases and systems, the maintenance of office records and filing systems. Ensuring compliance with data protection and freedom of information requirements. To be considered for this role you will need to; Have relevant experience in a similar role Be a basic to intermediate user of Excel (and other MS Office applications) Excellent level of numerical ability Have high attention to detail and able to work to challenging deadlines Strong interpersonal skills. Highly organised and ability to plan and prioritise workloads to me agreed timescales. Ability to use own initiative within agreed limits We're flexible on location and the ideal candidate will be based either in our Coventry or Exeter offices alongside relevant Finance colleagues, although we are also able to accommodate remote working to some extent. There may be occasional travel required to attend meetings, training events or undertake site visits although this is not expected to be a major feature of the role.
