This programme may consist of rotational placements and therefore you must be willing to relocate as and when the programme requires.

Qualifications: You must be in your penultimate year at university and be on track to achieve, a 2:2 degree classification in your degree

Our Finance function delivers insights that drive our financial outperformance and long-term value. We engage with all areas of the National Grid business reporting on performance and acting as partners to aid in decision making.

What you'll do

On the programme, you’ll gain exposure to different parts of our business and be an integral part of the team from the start.

The finance function plays an important role across a number of areas, and you’ll be actively involved in the following:

  • playing an integral part in business decision-making
  • planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • maintaining strong controls and financial integrity
  • safeguarding our assets and reputation

Over the course of the placement year, the focus of the student will change depending on business requirements, but most of the above core responsibilities should be experienced.

You will receive a starting salary of £19,400 during your industrial placement as well as 25 days' holiday and close mentoring and feedback to ensure you get the most out of your placement.

Best of all, if you have delivered excellent performance during your placement you may be offered an opportunity on our Graduate Development Programme at the start of your final year; leaving you free to concentrate on achieving that all-important grade.
