Stobart Group also holds a portfolio of infrastructure assets and investments. Finance Apprentice - What's the Role? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional, friendly and hard-working Group Finance Apprentice . This varied role is an opportunity to take ownership of key tasks within the Group Finance team of Stobart Group. Although based primarily in Widnes there will be some UK travel due to the divisionalised nature of the Group. The successful candidate will need to be versatile as the demands of the role may change with on-going projects at short notice and other developments in the Group. Within Group Finance, part of this role is the liaison with the divisional finance functions (and others) to coordinate and gather information and communicate with them. This will require a positive proactive approach and to form a good working relationship with Group and divisional staff especially finance staff. An opportunity for the appropriate candidate to study for an accounting qualification (such as AAT) supported by the Group. Finance Apprentice - What will I be responsible for? Purchase ledger and sales ledger - Process purchase ledger invoices including obtaining appropriate authorisation in line with the Group authority limits, recording costs in the accounts by cost centre, filing of invoices, preparing a monthly payment run and other ad hoc payments. - Raise sales ledger and intercompany recharge invoices and ensure prompt receipt of funds through effective credit control and communication with the finance departments of other group companies Monthly management accounts - Prepare monthly management accounts for individual subsidiary entities. - Prepare and issue templates to divisional operating companies for them to complete on a monthly basis Process credit card statements and employee expenses Process credit cards statements and employee expenses to ensure appropriate VAT recovery and correct recording of costs in the accounts Reconciliation of intercompany balances - You will be responsible for reconciling intercompany balances across the Group monthly, which includes collating divisional submissions and resolving issues through communication with divisions Assist with interim and year end reporting - Assist the Group Finance department with external financial reporting requirements Assist with tax compliance - iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts for companies across the Group Support the Group Finance department - Play an active role in the organisation of the department - Answer inbound finance calls from the switchboard - Open and distribute post - Completion of National Statistics forms Project work - Provide support for other ad hoc financial, compliance or commercial work, which will vary in nature and time according to requirements To submit your CV for this exciting Finance Apprentice opportunity, please click 'Apply' now.
