Senior Bookkeeper London NW11 Job Description Our client an accountancy firm that provides quality, personalised bookkeeping and accountancy services to our clients using accounting software. We have a variety of clients of whom a large proportion are in the entertainment industry. The role is primarily focussed on preparation of client VAT returns and we are looking for someone who likes working within a team and has a minimum of two years experience of working within an accountancy practice. Role includes: - Use of software packages VT Transaction (In House training given), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word & Microsoft Outlook. - Bank reconciliations. - Sales and purchase invoice entry & account reconciliations. - Cash transaction entry. - Journal entries. - Preparation and completion of VAT Returns. - Knowledge of VAT schemes: Standard, Accrual or Cash basis, Flat Rate, Partial Exemption, MTD. - EC Sales lists. - Liaise with clients to resolves queries. - Changes to VAT schemes & VAT clients details on HMRC website - Dealing with financial paperwork and filing. - Answer the telephone & deal with client enquiries. - Enter information into tax returns (In house training will be given) SKILLS REQUIRED: - Work accurately with an eye for detail. - Ability to work to deadlines. - Perform several tasks con-currently with ease and professionalism. - Good computer skills (Any well known accounting package, Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook,). - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, in English. - Keep client matters strictly confidential. - Iris Payroll Professional / Earnie PAYE and NEST submission an advantage but not necessary. You may occasionally be required travel to and from client's premises as part of your role. Experience: - Bookkeeping in an accountancy practice: 2 years (Required) - AAT Qualified or ACCA part qualified or similar UK qualification or qualified by experience in a UK accountancy practice.
