Key responsibilities Market research: Identification of exploitable market inefficiencies and opportunities Economic research: developing themes, assembling data and analysis Input to discretionary strategies: scenario and other risk/return analysis for current and proposed positions, trade refinement taking into account liquidity and market microstructure Input to portfolio construction and support ongoing portfolio management Contribute to design and review of systematic strategies including tail-risk hedging, and other asset-liability risk mitigation strategies Building and maintaining quantitative tools and models, subject to requirement of by Model risk Policy Carry out risk and performance analysis for the DAA programmes (e.g. risk budgeting, factor exposures, performance contributions) Advise the Scheme on asset allocation and investment opportunities Team infrastructure and support, including documentation Your experience Key Competencies: Technical ability, including finance and economic theory and understanding of derivatives Highly committed team player Initiative, independent thinking and intellectual curiosity to investigate and develop new ideas Interpersonal skills Performance oriented Strong compliance culture and high personal ethical standards General Skills and Experience: Strong scientific or financial training, preferably to post-graduate level, with strong economic literacy Substantial experience analysing markets and investment processes, spanning multiple asset classes, sectors and strategies, including traditional and alternative betas, preferably with a record of macro allocation Relevant risk analysis and risk management expertise including the uses of derivatives
