Finance Director Up to £83,000 Bexleyheath Grow Bexley. Expand your skills. As London expands, the borough of Bexley is perfectly placed to benefit from the city's evolution. The Council aims to create 31,000 new homes and 17,500 jobs, building an exemplary 21st Century suburb. At the heart of this exciting move is BexleyCo, the Council's development company. As Finance Director, you'll play a vital part in the success of this bold, ambitious start-up. As part of a small Senior Management Team, your expertise will be critical. A qualified accountant, you'll advise the Managing Director and the Board on risks and commercial ventures, while overseeing financial arrangements. In short, you'll split your focus between accounting and commercial matters, which means you'll enjoy a varied remit: everything from monthly P&L, balance sheets and management accounts, to the evaluation of investments, business cases and due diligence. Crucially, you'll be responsible for drawing down on working capital, finalising development loan agreements and presenting our financial position to shareholders and the Board. And naturally, you'll ensure that BexleyCo is compliant with all statutory returns. You may be working in local government or the private sector. Either way, you'll have strong technical finance skills and proven experience. This means you can financially model and support business cases, handle P&L and balance sheets, and provide detailed forecasts. A good grasp of taxation will be key and asset or property experience would be helpful. Beyond this, you'll need a strategic mind and the ability to give professional presentations. A good negotiator, you'll be comfortable working with everyone from solicitors to developers. If you have the get-up-and-go to turn our plans into reality, you'll find your knowledge and commercial skills will grow as part of this start-up team.
