Salary:

Our finance department is central in this endeavour. Enfield Council has consolidated its finance functions from across the local authority into a single Finance Hub. The hub covers four teams: Corporate Finance; Capital and Projects; Budget Challenge and Financial Activity; and Pensions. The Senior Finance Officer will sit in the Corporate Finance Team and is primarily responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with medium term financial planning, the setting of the Council's annual budget and the accounting arrangements relating to the Collection Fund. This opportunity will include a wide array of responsibilities such as co-ordinating the budget process, maintaining the medium term financial plan, the processing of adjustments between service departments and ensuring statutory financial returns are in line regulatory requirements. You will work closely with senior officers and elected members on a variety of financial topics and support the Finance Manager with the accounting requirements of the Collection Fund. This is a great opportunity to gain a thorough overview of the Council's finances and budgets whilst acquiring valuable experience in all aspects of Corporate Finance. You will be a hardworking, organised and highly numerate individual who can provide high quality financial support. You will ideally have previous experience working in a financial environment, using computerised systems (preferably SAP) and Excel. It would be desirable for applicants to either hold or be actively working towards an accountancy qualification.
