NEW Qualified Accountant Required For Risk Role working for Prestigious FS Company in Croydon Are you an ACCA/CIMA Qualified with around 2-3 years PQE with experience in a Risk, Internal/External Audit, Finance or similar function? Have previous experience within financial services/insurance or a desire to work in this industry sector and seeking a new role within an extremely prestigious company offering superb salary/benefits package & further advancement? Our client is a well established organisation in the fast moving world of financial services & a world famous name in the insurance sector. This exceptionally professional and employee focused organisation currently has an opportunity for a recently qualified ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant to join them as a Risk Officer responsible for the UK & Ireland, Benelux & Nordics areas. Based in Croydon you will be an integral part of the Regional Risk Management team and there to support the Risk function in the development, delivery and support of systems and services, as required and to establish new or enhance existing Risk Management processes. To support the Regional Head of Risk through involvement in or leading projects as well as working with regional and global colleagues on Risk programs and activities. Areas of responsibility will include: planning, implementation, management, delivery and follow-up of Risk programs. These include: Risk Maturity Assessment, Integrated Risk and Control System, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, Operational Loss Event Capture programs, Key Risk Indicators, Remediation Action Monitoring, Risk Reporting as well as other programs required by the Global Risk function. Communication and business-partnering with local and regional management is essential to ensure that risks are identified, reported and managed. The role will primarily be responsible for the Risk Management functional delivery and support for the UK & Ireland and Benelux & Nordics entities, but will also extend to regional support for projects as well as development into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on specific regional or global Risk topics & a summary of responsibilities are summarised below:- Delivery, management and support of the UK & Ireland and Benelux & Nordics Risk programs, as required, in line with Group Risk requirements and deadlines. Implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Risk and Control System (IRCS) program in the locations (in line with the Regional Internal Control SME and Group Risk guidance) and play an active role in the process of identifying, assessing and managing risks. Delivery and management of Internal Control evaluation, testing and remediation processes to meet all regulatory and internal requirements. Work with the business to identify control requirements and then support the design and implementation of those controls as appropriate. Lead and participate in as well as support the preparation, investigation, reporting and documentation for the local Operational Risk Meetings and Regional Risk Committee Meetings. Support the design and implementation of the overall Risk Management processes in the region and manage changes in systems or procedures when necessary to improve quality. Monitor, evaluate and challenge the organisation's success in managing its risks. Manage projects from concept to implementation including planning, communications, analysis, documentation, archiving, monitoring and reporting. Promote a positive Risk Culture and proactively communicate Operational Risk issues as well as monitor, report and escalate significant events as appropriate. Development, management and delivery of Risk training within the Region as required. Develop strong working relationships within the business and develop business partnering solutions through Risk Management support and interaction. Build and maintain a network of Risk and Control Coordinators in the sub-regions. Support the annual Top Risk Assessment process including monitoring of mitigation plans. Manage the Risk Reporting and Operational Loss Event programmes in line with Group requirements. Prepare consolidated Operational Risk and Loss Event reporting ensuring data accuracy and completeness. This will be in line with the Regional SME's requirements. Organise appropriate Risk reporting, internally and externally. Escalate Risk matters and be able to present issues to senior personnel, offering solutions and helping with implementation. Create, maintain and update corporate Risk templates and standards for documentation. Maintain an archive for Risk Management ensuring a clear audit trail for documentation. Collaborate with the wider Regional Risk team members and participate in Regional Risk topics and projects to ensure collective delivery of the Risk function in the Region. Operate in accordance with company and departmental procedures and standards and actively contribute to the achievement of department goals and objectives. Undertake ad hoc project work as required by the Regional Head of Risk Management Applications for this responsible important role are particularly welcomed from CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualifieds with around 1-5 years plus PQE and proven work experience in a Risk, Internal/External Audit, Finance or similar function. Skilled use of Microsoft office applications including PowerPoint and Word and advanced Excel would also be required and insurance industry experience would be desirable but NOT essential. On a personal front you will need excellent negotiating, influencing communication and presentation skills and be happy to travel within Europe on a regular on-going basis. Interested?
