A LEADING Blue Chip Giant based in Solihull are currently looking for an accomplished Payroll Manager to join them for an initial 6 month contract. The Payroll Manager will have a proven management background ideally within a shared services function or even a rewards and benefits function. My client is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor owned Energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner. The Payroll Manager will be required to manage 6-8 individuals within our payroll function. As well conducting BAU payroll management a big part of your role will be to supervise our payroll team and liaise with other professionals within the business. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll management and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills. KEY Experience Required Proven experience as a payroll manager within a large shared service or Benefits/HR function Proven team management experience (6 individuals) Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes Familiarity with payroll software which may include HRIS (e.g. SAP, ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (especially Excel) A keen eye for detail An analytical mind and good math skills Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) Organizational and leadership skills BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus Responsibilities May Include: Leading from the front regarding benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems Oversee processing of payroll changes Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies Supervise and coach 6-8 payroll employees Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams Maintain accurate records and prepare reports Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions Candidates will need to show evidence of the above in their CV in order to be considered.
