Milton Keynes Working within a small team, this role mainly provides Revenue support to the Milton Keynes office with some assistance to Watford and London when required. This is the management of Work In Progress (WIP), including regular communication with fee earners and supporting the current Revenue Controller and Credit Controller. This will include liaising closely with the billing team in Warsaw ensuring all invoices are raised as per Partner instructions in a timely manner. This role will monitor specific Client requirements by collating and monitoring purchase order no's and liaising with the team and the Clients for accuracy through to payment of invoices. Responsibilities Revenue / credit control Assisting the Revenue Controller and Revenue Manager in regular meetings with Partners and Fee Earners to ascertain when transactions will complete, the levels of fees expected, and the anticipated bill date and client billing requirements - taking any action required to facilitate the billing process Establish strong working relationships with Partners, fee-earner and secretaries. Collate purchase order information for various Clients and ensure accuracy before submission to the Clients Produce various reports in a timely manner for Fee Earners Monitoring of WIP, billing and liaising with Fee Earners for efficient and accurate time posting Liaise closely with the billing team in England and Warsaw ensuring that all details correspond with Partners' and client instructions Assisting Credit Control by monitoring incoming payments and monitoring overdue invoices. General Chase missing and uncompleted time for the Milton Keynes and Watford offices Provide general assistance to the UK Revenue Manager with ad hoc project work, as and when required Comply with the firm's policies and any other legal obligations, and effectively manage risks to the firm where those risks relate to this role Required experience, skills and attributes Good knowledge and understanding of Work in Progress management, obtained through work experience in a similar environment. Experience of working in a law firm (or similar) is not essential for this role Possesses the confidence to deal effectively with Partners, and to discuss their files Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Able to prioritise and multi-task particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines Able to interact positively at all levels and a good team player Methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy Hardworking and enthusiastic approach to work; professional in outlook, attitude and appearance Confident using MS Office, including Word and Excel Knowledge of the Elite accounts system, and of e-billing systems, would be an advantage Basic knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules A good knowledge and understanding of VAT would be an advantage Flexible and prepared to work additional hours at month, quarter and year ends Personal skills / attributes Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly structured and organised individual, with good attention to detail, accuracy and quality Able to interact positively at all levels within the firm and a good team player Able to demonstrate good client/customer facing skills Able to make decisions and remain calm while under pressure - particularly when dealing with difficult situations Proactive with a "can-do" attitude in all areas, with a strong sense of self-motivation Understands the need for documentation and well-defined procedures Professional in outlook, attitude and appearance Language capabilities We are a truly global law firm and as such, always welcome hearing from those with foreign language capabilities.
