Job Description: Grant Thornton in the Thames Valley and Southampton comprises approximately 20 partners and directors and over 275 staff, working out of offices in Reading, Oxford and Southampton. The Thames Valley Assurance team is led by 4 partners and 5 directors and comprises more than 125 people. We deliver assurance to clients of all sizes including both large corporates and small and medium-sized businesses. In everything we do, our aim is to deliver a proactive and value add assurance service to our clients. What you'll be doing working as part of and leading the on-site audit teams, effectively providing a hands on role that meets or exceeds client expectations and supports the partner or manager team working with other members of the audit team, ensuring associates understand their responsibilities and have received appropriate on-the-job training or coaching communicating any issues relating to an audit with manager or partner including matters which arise during the audit which were not identified at the planning stage preparing or reviewing work papers and drafts of the financial statements and oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion producing client deliverables, specifically drafting sections of the report to management and control the audit in relation to timescales and risk management procedures being a key contact between the client and senior members of the team ensuring great relationships built on mutual trust and respect Who we're looking for Education, experience and qualifications: You'll be fully qualified (ACA, CA, ACCA, CIPFA) with the ability to lead external audits ( minimum criteria) Maths and English Language GCSE or equivalent comfortable using audit software and Microsoft packages Passionate about supporting, advising and helping businesses achieve their potential, you'll be someone who wants to make a difference and shape your career and a Vibrant Economy. You'll have strong technical skills and experience of providing clients with quality services. You should be commercially focused with the ability to deliver innovative solutions. You should be focused on self-development as well as having the desire to coach, mentor and develop your colleagues.
