Role title: Lead Finance Business Partner (Projects) - LIP (Livestock Information Programme) Sector: Finance Company Information The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is a statutory levy board, funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain and managed as an independent organisation (independent of both commercial industry and of Government). Our philosophy is that levy payers are at the heart of what we do. In order to deliver genuine levy payer focus there is a sector advisory committee (known as 'sector board') for each of the six commodity sectors represented by AHDB. Each sector board comprises levy payers, other stakeholders from the sector and independent members. The main AHDB Board has delegated the responsibility to each sector board to develop the most appropriate strategies to meet the challenges of the sector; to ensure the relevant levy rate is recommended in order to provide adequate funding for the required work; to monitor strategy implementation and to approve remedies where performance deviates from plan. The sector board members are appointed by AHDB. Team/department purpose The AHDB Finance team are a central support service department within a matrix operating structure that undertakes all finance related activities for the organisation. The finance team undertake the transactional processing of income / costs, complete a wide variety of financial reporting for internal customers & external stakeholders, provide finance support & expertise across AHDB to ensure that the organisation is optimising outputs and ensures adherence to the financial controls environment. Role responsibilities The FBP-LIP reports into the Finance Director and is a key role that ensures the organisation is effectively managing project delivery of the Livestock Information Programme through effective financial management, insightful reporting and continual enhancements of policies and processes that ensures full adherence to AHDB's controls environment. The role requires a technically strong finance business partner who is able to identify and work through project delivery risks whilst establishing efficient ways of working as the project embeds into the organisation over time. Person specification
• A CCAB or CIMA accountant, with excellent technical knowledge, a strong eye for detail and the ability to operate at a senior level
• Able to build forward thinking working relationships so as to positively influence and improve the financial performance of the function. Demonstrable success in a role requiring the ability to 'partner' non-finance staff leading to successful outcomes
• Pro-active approach to problem solving and experienced in managing conflicting deadlines and workloads
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance staff and to improve policies, systems and processes
• Highly computer literate, including advanced use of Microsoft Office products and experience of using modern ERP systems including the use of system interrogation tools Salary range: £49,000 - £55,000
