Lusona has been retained by our client in the Construction and Engineering sector to source suitable applicants for the post of Financial Controller. This is a new role, and the successful candidate will be a key member of the senior management team to support the Board of Directors in achieving the strategic goals of the company. The key duties and responsibilities will include: Working with the other members of the senior management team to help set and achieve business goals and objectives tied to the company business plans Managing the Finance team of 8 employees Preparing reports for monthly board meetings Preparing quarterly accounts Producing the year end statutory accounts and agreeing finalisation with external auditors Managing the company bank accounts and liaising with staff from the Bank Preparing and reviewing the annual budgets Managing the weekly and monthly payrolls Responsibility for all relevant taxes (e.g. VAT, PAYE, NIC, CIS, VAT, Corporation Tax and Apprenticeship Levy) Developing the COINS accounting software to improve financial and management information Company secretarial tasks Leading and managing ad hoc projects as they arise It is essential that applicants are fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ICAS), and have previous experience gained in the Construction or Engineering sector.
