Reporting to the MD of a growing Venture Capital firm, the Finance Director is a new role to support both the company and a new debt fund which will provide lending capability to both companies in their existing portfolio and to external non portfolio companies. Responsibilities will include the following; Playing a key role as part of the Investment Committee to ensure that all lending decisions fall in line with credit risk policy Support the raising of further debt capital with the other leadership team members at pitches/external meetings to banks, family offices and other sources of capital as applicable To lead and prepare financial reports and analysis for recommendation to the Investment Committee on lending opportunities involving financial modelling and due diligence type activities on potential new clients On a timely basis, analyse and report on the performance of the current debt fund looking at KPI's and presenting to the leadership team To ensure all accounting compliance activities are carried out on a timely basis including statutory accounts and VAT returns Lead on all aspects of monthly management accounts, budgeting & forecasting and other general finance and accounting duties You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with ideally experience of working within a lending type business whether it be a bank or alternative lender. Other financial services sector experience will be considered. You will be able to operate both operationally and strategically within a small but successful business and have excellent presentation, analytical and decision making skills.
