Our client a leading maritime services providers based in London is currently looking for a Tax Assistant to join their team on perm basis. The main purpose of the role is to prepare the monthly VAT returns and UK tax. Assist with adhoc project and tax reporting to Head Office and develop understanding of the business, IT systems and tax software.

Responsibilities:
Preparation of the monthly UK VAT return for review. Preparation of the ESL return. Maintain and reconcile VAT control account. Preparation of all UK tax computations and produce near final returns for submission. Preparation of all Jersey entity tax returns for review and submission Assist in tagging of financial statements. Collate and prepare reporting returns for the worldwide group (over 100 entities) Preparation of withholding tax forms and dealing with WHT queries from overseas finance managers. Maintain and update SAO complaint processes and documentation for annual sign off. Assist in drafting of transfer pricing documentation and policies. Develop understanding of accounting systems, Unit 4 and Tax software. Assist with automation of accounting reports and adhoc analysis Provide support to the Group Financial Analyst and Head of Financial & Management Reporting on the month end, quarter end and year end reporting deliverables Skills and knowledge: At least 1 -2 years' experience in accounts payable. Previous basic tax knowledge. Study towards obtaining a Professionals accounting qualification ACA/ACCA Ability to manage a portfolio of work effectively and efficiently. Develop and maintain a strong control environment Strong financial analysis and attention to detail Solid systems experience Strong IT skills particularly Excel Ability to interface constructively with people in order to understand issues at a practical level Ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure
