Purchase Ledger Clerk Our client, a leading school in North London is seeking a Finance Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerk to assist the School Finance Officer specifically responsible for the School's Purchase Ledger System. The role is part of a small finance team so would suit someone who is comfortable working in a busy but heads down environment where there is an opportunity to get involved with various aspects of Finance. The role would also involve the provision of an element of support to the Fees Officer as agreed to ensure appropriate cross-fertilisation within the small finance team. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Operation of the School's purchase ledger Processing incoming supplier invoices Checking for authorisation and chasing this as required Dealing with supplier and staff queries Preparation of payments runs Assisting the Finance Officer with other accounting reconciliations eg. School Trips Banking of School funds when required Providing cover for the Finance Officer when required PERSON SPECIFICATION We are seeking someone with experience dealing with a Purchase Ledger System and who is used to dealing with high volume invoices. The right individual will have strong interpersonal skills with a clear focus on customer service. With good attention to detail, the person in this role will also have the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and the ability to apply diplomacy and tact when appropriate. It is essential that this individual has the ability to prioritise tasks and to be able to show initiative in dealing with day-to-day situations.
