MORE ABOUT THIS JOB The Risk Division is a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk. Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm's counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm's success. The division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail. Credit Risk (CR) is responsible for managing the firm's credit exposure to its trading and lending counterparties. Leveraging its extensive expertise in financial, credit and risk analysis, CR ensures that credit exposure to our counterparts is managed within the firm's risk appetite. Staffed with more than 400 professionals, CR operates through 12 different offices around the world and credit professionals work closely with many areas of the firm. Given this structure, CR professionals gain diverse financial experience and a broad perspective on how the entire firm functions. The interaction with numerous departments and the range of projects that ensue allow for a challenging, varied and multi-dimensional work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES Assess the credit and financial strength of the firm's corporate borrowers and counterparts by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factor Review lending and underwriting transactions, determine risk appetite and regulatory ratings, having developed an independent view of cash flow projections and of key documentation protection Perform sector analysis regularly in order to assess portfolio concentrations or trend Monitor credit trends in the portfolio, perform distressed analysis and estimate potential impairment Interact with the Investment Banking, Merchant Banking and Fixed Income divisions on transactional approvals and actively participate in credit committee Make recommendations for setting limits for overall risk appetit Report risk information to senior management and ongoing portfolio management of companies within Corporate sector Develop and manage relationships with other areas of the firm, including Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Operations, Controllers, Treasury, Legal, Compliance and Technology BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Economics / Finance / Business related discipline or relevant work experienc Strong interest and familiarity with corporate finance, financial markets and economic development Experience in credit and financial analysis preferable Strong analytical and quantitative skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines across a broad portfolio of Corporate clients Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals.
