This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to take the next step in their career. Responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the payroll department. Manage, coach and develop a small team of payroll staff Provide constructive and positive feedback and mentor staff Managing and overseeing 200 client payrolls to ensure deadlines are met Responsible for various pension submissions and auto enrolment Responsible for ensuring a high level of compliance with internal procedures and current payroll legislation A key part of your role will be to review payrolls prior to payroll output being issued to clients You will resolve any issues or problems which arise and investigate and advise staff in relation to complex payroll related scenarios You will engage with clients direct to resolve any technical or other issues Deal with HMRC on a regular basis in order to resolve client related queries Communicate regularly with clients to agree time-frames and improve service You will monitor cost of delivery of service and identify areas of concern Support and train members of staff as well as clients who require advice The main requirements: Experience of managing a payroll team is essential Up to date Payroll and Pensions knowledge is essential Experience of working in a Practice or Bureau environment is essential Strong leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with Senior Management Proven experience in driving process improvements across a similar sized Payroll function Experience of Sage would be preferred High level of IT proficiency My client offers a fantastic salary and benefits package for the successful candidate.
