Audit Senior / Assistant Manager Public Sector Audit £41,000 Southampton Based in the historic maritime city of Southampton with its abundance of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities my client is one of the Big4 Accounting Firms and, as a result of exceptional client wins, is looking to hire into their Public Sector Audit Team. They have a breadth of clients from Local and District Councils through to NHS Trusts and Higher Education Institutions spreading across Hampshire and West Sussex. With Resource Planning at the forefront, my client tries to ensure that you will be working on audits close to where you live and offers the chance to both develop your career and also explore life outside Public Sector Audit if you so wish. The Role Undertake Client Audits with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and technical accounting matters. Complete fieldwork on client sites to ensure delivery of the Audit process Partner with other teams and service lines as required to help ensure the smooth delivery of client services. Remain informed about technical and regulatory accounting change ensuring quality throughout delivery of all services Act as a role model for more junior members of the team, providing on-the-job coaching. Experience CA/ACCA/CIPFA qualification (or recognised equivalent) ideally with first time passes At least 2 years' experience in the provision of external audit services to multiple clients/entities in the government and public sectors Thorough expertise in primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, IFRS or recognised equivalent) and in related financial reporting matters Proven experience in using Global Audit Methodology to perform engagements in compliance with auditing standards My client is keen to meet with people over the course of the Summer.
