Elevation Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced UK Tax & Financial Accountant on behalf of a well-established distribution business, based in South Yorkshire. Duties &

Responsibilities:
- Compliance and reporting - Preparation of UK tax returns; Quarterly VAT returns; Corporation tax computations and returns; CIS returns; PSA returns - Ensuring VAT is correctly accounted for and payments are made on time - Dealing with HMRC correspondence - Preparation of tax schedules to support the Group current and deferred tax provisions (biannually) and consolidated tax disclosures - Support the financial accounts team with preparation of the tax disclosures in the UK statutory accounts - Risk management - To assist the Group Tax Manager in the development of internal controls reporting framework in respect of direct and indirect tax compliance - To mitigate tax risk through the compliance process and ensure that the Group's Tax Policy is adhered to - To assist the firm's external tax advisor in providing necessary information to support the annual Senior Accounting Officer requirements - To contribute towards and assist with designing and implementing process improvements to facilitate accurate and timely tax reporting - Maintenance of the Group Tax Policy - Provide support to the Group Finance Team in all UK tax and duty matters as required - Primary support for UK tax - Keep up-to-date with relevant tax technical issues - with a focus on indirect tax - Regularly investigate and resolve several varied ad-hoc tax queries and be a primary contact for the UK operating businesses - Ad-hoc commercial project and provision of tax support to other areas of the business - Maintain working relationships with external advisors The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: - Qualified CTA/ ACCA/ ACA - VAT knowledge, including import and exports - Strong Excel skills - Good systems knowledge - Ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet tough deadlines, with high attention to detail - Ability to excellently communicate complex and technical points clearly, both verbally and in writing - Creative approach to problem-solving - Good decision making ability - Ability to adapt to changing priorities If you match the required criteria and would like to know more about this position, then please do not hesitate to contact Steve Bruce at Elevation Recruitment Group.
