Credit Controller Newton Abbot £18,000 Ref: 13514 A brand new opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join a long-standing family-owned media company on a permanent basis at their Head Office near Newton Abbot. With a recent wide-ranging restructure across the company, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated Credit Controller to take ownership of the overall credit control function. Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be working as part of a newly-formed team and be responsible for the following: Ensure invoices, credit notes and statements etc are sent to customers. Ensure that the receipting (cash sheet, cheques etc) is banked and processed. Ensure credit card receipts are processed accurately. Ensure customers pay their accounts when due. Includes contacting, and chasing up customers. Reconciling balances with customers and resolving queries etc. Liaising with other departments and offices (e.g. advertising) Bad/doubtful debt management. Deal with credit applications, credit review and input into Sage and a bespoke system, including setting and ensure limits are adhered to. Support the Financial Controller to ensure the accounting records are maintained. Provide support to cover when other staff are on leave. In order to be successfully considered you must have the following: Recent proven credit control experience gained within a busy accounts team. A good understanding of accountancy concepts. Experience of data entry with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. A strong ability to pick up new software quickly. Excellent Excel skills. Ability to work in a small team environment. Have a proactive attitude and possess excellent communication skills as you will need to liaise effectively and professionally with both internal members of staff and external customers.
