Senior Credit Risk Manager Our client is one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies offering Trade Finance, International Payments, Currency Accounts and FX Risk Management. They believe that in order for businesses to prosper and grow, there needs to be as few boundaries as possible. With their technology based platform they empower small and medium-sized businesses to trade and transact internationally. Just over nine years old, the business now employs 900 people operating from 22 offices globally, has on-boarded 40,000 clients, has transacted £12.5Bn in the last 12 months, and is expanding both product-offering and geographical-reach. As a company they're too young for bureaucracy and instead simply believe in getting things done. Role This is a key role building out the underwriting function in the context of a fast growing Fintech with a worldwide footprint. Their lending is powered by business insight. The risk team undertakes thorough rigorous analysis of the SME businesses looking to use the firms' services. This will include an assessment of their markets, financials, products, activities and cash headroom modelling. The person will be expected to contribute to the development of automated risk modelling and to adapt processes to local markets, as well as prepare a submission into Credit Committee with results and recommendations. The ideal candidate would complement the businesses analytical and statistical capabilities with their own country-specific hands-on knowledge of defaults, credit underwriting, and collections. The key is to add qualitative insight to credit decisions including granting lines, monitoring them, and pursuing collections. Responsibilities As a Senior Credit Risk Manager you will: - Support and report to the Head of Risk and Chief Risk Officer - Perform credit analysis and offer recommendations for trade finance and currency trading products - Train and help the improvement of Risk Analysts - Lead the improvement of the underwriting processes - Provide insights that affect directly Risk processes - Participate in the development of internal modelling/scoring efforts to automatate credit decisions You will have - University degree in business, finance or similar - Fluency in English is essential (additional languages are a plus) - Background in credit underwriting - 5 to 10 years' experience in a SME credit analysis role - Previous experience in alternative lenders or non-banking entities desirable - CFA or similar certification completed or at least in process desirable - Demonstrable strong analytical ability - Experience in understanding how businesses work and perform - Clear, concise communication style - Willingness to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment - Working knowledge of Excel essential, VBA/Macros desirable The opportunity The chance to help a successful, established, global, growing fintech continue to improve, diversify and expand and take the career opportunities all of that can offer.
