ResponsibilitiesJ.P. Morgan Asset Management is looking to hire the Head of Strategy for the European Real Estate group which is part of the Global Alternatives business. The successful candidate will be based in London and will be responsible for formulating the strategy for a number of existing and new funds and separately mandated accounts (including managing the underlying research function). He/she will be a voting member of the investment committee, a member of the management committee and an integral member of the investment team. The successful candidate will also be heavily involved in client communication, marketing and product launches. The candidate will actively participate both in new investment decisions and in strategies to maximize the value of the existing portfolio.QualificationsDeep understanding of the European real estate market fundamentals and capital marketsAbility not only to provide insights on current conditions but also the ability to make projectionsFacility with modern portfolio theory as it relates to real estate (must understand risk and pricing)Ability to approach the position with both a 'top-down' and 'bottom-up' perspectiveA strong co-operative and consensus-based approachPolished communication skills and ability to command respect from colleagues and clientsAmbitious and a 'self-starter' who takes initiatives naturallyStrong team player, highly personable and relationship focusedSignificant experience in the European Real Estate marketPost-graduate degreeThis role encompasses the performance of regulated activity.
