A successful, nationally-known business is looking for a Change Lead to join its fast-growing Payroll department. This is a brand new position where you will be critical to the smooth operation of the payroll IT system and establishment of the Change team within this department. The payroll department is part of the company's HR and People Function. It is here to ensure that all employees are paid accurately with the correct withholdings and deductions and to ensure they are remitted in a timely manner. Usually this sort of role would sit in an IT team but we are dedicated to providing the best payroll service to the business. Using your excellent knowledge of change/release management in payroll or HR systems and by developing, communicating and committing all change requests in a safe manner, you can help us do that. This role could be either full time or part time (minimum of 3 full days per week) depending on your situation. Role and Responsibilities Lead, co-ordinate and project manage the deployment of all change involving the payroll system. Be responsible for the regulatory change definition, ensuring it meets the deadline and the impacts on the payroll processes are understood. Own the payroll change roadmap, linking directly with the HR systems teams and prioritising change requests from various business areas to the payroll team Manage and test all upgrades from our payroll supplier and sign off before implementing. Handle and prioritise change requests, and the execution of them. Coordinate change governance and identify and manage any risk. Work with the Risk & Governance team to cover off any compliance requirements. Contribute to the development of the payroll system and support the implementation of these. Overseeing day to day performance of payroll software. Prepare and present high-level reports when required. Lead the change team as well as supporting the wider team from a leadership perspective. Skills and Experience Strong experience in change management and release management relating to payroll or HR systems. Good understanding and experience in configuration management. Experience of working in environments where internal teams and service providers collaborate to deliver change. Comfortable switching between different tasks and working accurately to tight (sometimes urgent) deadlines. Experience of handling confidential and sensitive data with a high degree of discretion, maintaining confidentiality always. Coordination and leadership skills - working with virtual teams and engaging with multiple partners and colleagues at all levels. Good analytical and reporting skills. What will you get for this role? Salary up to £49,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications. Generous defined contribution pension scheme.
