Bookkeeper - Basic circa £19,000 - Dudley, West Midlands The Role We are looking for a conscientious and motivated Bookkeeper to take on the responsibility for the total management of practice bookkeeping function. Reporting to senior accountants and managers, you will be record keeping in various formats and systems for a variety of client businesses ranging from small to large, producing information for management and year end accounts. This is a chance to build a successful career with us and liaise with some of our top clients directly. The key responsibilities of a Bookkeeper include, but are not limited to: Creating and posting sales invoices and credit notes Posting of purchase invoices Posting and allocating bank / cash / credit card Performing bank reconciliation duties Reviewing purchase and sales ledger for inconsistencies and investigating with both relevant clients and management Completing journal entries, supplier statement reconciliations, nominal ledger reviews etc. Preparing VAT Returns on a variety of schemes Training apprentices and junior staff members Liaising with third parties, such as HMRC, customers, suppliers etc. The Person The key skills and qualities of a Bookkeeper: Must have 5 A-C QCSE's (including Maths and English) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, accounting packages (Quickbooks/Sage/Xero/ Iris/FreeAgent/Receipt Bank) and is confident using a computer Able to work to deadlines, knowledge of MTD and ideally knowledge of payroll An excellent communicator, able to converse and build relationships with people on all levels of the business as well as clients and third parties A can-do attitude and good work ethic, able to work off own initiative as well as part of a team If you are keen on joining this exciting, forward thinking company and taking the next step in your career, then please click the apply now button to find out more.
