An exciting opportunity to join a firm that supports businesses through accountancy and related services such as bookkeeping, VAT and tax and the other traditional services offered by Accountants Practices. Due to continued growth the Group we have created a new position for someone to help strengthen our teams across the group. You'll be working closely with the Senior Management team reporting into the Proprietor and responsible for adding value to the training and development of our employees whilst taking ad hoc work from the managers to assist in the timely production of client needs. To be right for this job you'll have strong experience knowledge and exposure of working within Accountancy Practice, and either be Part Qualified or Qualified. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning group of Accountancy Practices that are Tax and Accountancy specialists. The group continues to grow year on year by acquiring new Practices mainly situated in the North East. This niche position will give you really good variety and exposure, with no 2 days the same and expenses for any travel paid. About the role:
• Preparation of accounts for a wide range of businesses to include sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies, ready for manager review.
• Tax work including personal and company tax returns, VAT returns and CIS returns.
• Assisting with bookkeeping and VAT return work for a small number of clients.
• Covering questions and queries with clients directly with them.
• Assisting clients with online accounting software packages and making them aware of their obligations under MTD.
• Monitor deadlines for MTD and Companies House and report to office manager.
• Advising clients directly with assistance from other members of the team where needed.
• Assist in the management and development of junior staff.
• Other ad-hoc work as required by the office manager.
• Audit work may be required. Requirements:
• Current UK accountancy practice experience
• The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
• A working knowledge of desktop and cloud-based accounting software. Knowledge and experience of IRIS products preferable but not essential as training will be given.
• The ability to put together an accounts file from complete and incomplete records and carry out an analytical review
• Experience of dealing directly with clients on a regular basis
• A friendly outgoing personality You must have good people skills, be highly organized and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines as part of a busy and friendly team. You must have a good command of the English language (both spoken and written) as the job involves writing of technical emails to clients. Benefits:
