JOB DESCRIPTION Change Public Practice are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Bookkeeping and Outsourcing Supervisor on behalf of our Accountancy client. Based in Edinburgh city centre, this role offers an exceptional opportunity for a qualified by experience or part-qualified individual to join an established, dynamic and well-regarded firm of professionals and to gain access to a wide range of opportunities to consolidate and expand accounting skills, alongside unrivaled client exposure. The main responsibilities of this role are to manage a small team of Bookkeepers as well as the management of a portfolio of clients effectively and efficiently, ensuring that the service provided maintains the existing high client expectations. With Making Tax Digital looming closer, there has been a spike in new work for clients and so this will be a busy role with a huge portfolio of clients to work with. The right candidate for this role will display excellent verbal and written communication skills, accuracy & attention to detail, and good time management and organisation skills. Key responsibilities within this role will include and not be limited to:
• Liaising with the Managers and Partners to service all clients in Bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts needs
• Managing a small team of Bookkeepers, delegating work as well as managing your own workload
• Review of work and files before sending on to Managers
• Review of software and procedures, to ensure the most efficient way of working and advising managers of any improvements to streamline processes
• Assist clients with Cloud accounting software set ups To be considered for this role you will have:
• At least 3 years' experience within a Bookkeeping capacity, ideally in Practice
• Experience in a senior position assisting with junior members of staff
• Strong bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts knowledge and experience As client interaction and development is a large aspect of this role, first class customer service skills and the ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally are essential.
