Paul Hamlyn Foundation is one of the largest independent grant-making organisations in the UK. We aim to help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives. We have a particular interest in supporting young people and a strong belief in the importance of the arts. We are recruiting for a full time, permanent Grants Assistant to support our work in the migration and integration field through our Shared Ground Fund. This post will also support our work to fund unusual and radical ideas that can lead to social change through the Ideas and Pioneers Fund. You will provide administrative support to a team of grant-makers working across funds and initiatives that support organisations working to address challenges experienced by those who migrate to the UK. The team comprises a Senior Grants Manager and currently two Grants Managers. In supporting the Ideas and Pioneers Fund, this post will also involve close liaison with the Grants Manager who leads on this Fund. You will work with colleagues to build and support relationships with a diverse network of individuals and organisations, supporting assessments and recommendations about funding. By assisting organisations through the grant making-process and through the life time of their grant, you will help them to achieve their own growth and development objectives - and in doing so, you will also help the Foundation achieve its strategic priorities. You will be expected to work in a small and fully interconnected structure that relies on collaboration, flexibility and the ability to operate within both formal and informal reporting relationships. You will be someone who wants to make a difference and enjoys multi-tasking in a busy environment. With excellent communication skills, you will be able to build working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be confident when faced with challenge, as well as resourceful and creative when problem-solving. Personal commitment to learning and improvement is essential.
