Job Details

No 2 SME Financial Controller role, Coventry, reporting into the CFO, £45,000 - £55,000 + excellent benefits.

Hays have been appointed by a nationally recognised £10mil t/o SME to recruit a qualified Financial Controller. This business has seen significant growth, and as part of this, the company has also had recent investment. This newly created Financial Controller role will complete the picture and allow for continued, controlled growth.

Reporting into the CFO, you will be a key member of the senior management team and produce accurate monthly board packs whilst taking ownership over the existing finance team of 2. You will be very hands on and willing to get involved in all duties required of a busy accounts department, as well as working with external auditors and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

The successful candidate will join a business who are passionate about what they do and committed to developing their employees to their full potential. You will have excellent attention to detail but also be able to commercially deep dive into the numbers identifying anomalies, risks and opportunities.

Key requirements:
Lead the month end close process to ensure the management accounts are prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
Work closely with the external accountants to maintain the current month end close process.
Develop and perform financial control tasks including analytical review, revenue and third-party intermediary analysis, and balance sheet control account reconciliations.
Maintain sound working capital and treasury management to ensure there are always sufficient cash balances within the respective company accounts to service the cash flow requirements of the business.
Review and authorise the weekly supplier payment run.
Ensure the internal finance system is being utilised to maximise efficiency whilst maintaining the necessary financial controls.
Working closely with the Operations Director, ensure the internal system is robust and provides and accurate position of both historic and future customer contract payment predictions.
Assist the CFO with the preparation of the annual budgeting process and trading reforecasts as necessary
Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with local GAAP (primarily IFRS) and be main point of contact for external stakeholders.

As a qualified accountant you will bring new ideas, financial rigour and some commercial input to the business. In addition to running the day to day finance department you will also be involved in ad hoc projects such as systems implementation.

In return, you will receive a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 plus excellent benefits, including car allowance, bonus (based on individual KPIs and company profit), pension, 25 days holiday, free on site parking, flexible working where required, and the opportunity to develop and evolve within this entrepreneurial business.
