A UK importer and distributor of the finest spirits from around the world are seeking a Financial Controller for their offices close to Paddington, NW London . The role of the Financial Controller is focused on analysis and control with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar commercial environment. The role consists mainly of analysis activities with focus on a full visibility on the financial performance of the organization, identifying risks and supporting the management team and local organization, by efficient and effective financial monitoring . Participation in Budget and Forecast exercises, partnering with the sales and marketing department to analyses opportunities to improve topline and reduce costs . Responsibilities Support the Finance Director in maintaining a tight cost control across the Opex and Capex of the company. Analysis: Monthly analysis of the year to date performance on the topline by brand and key client. Budgeting: Assist on the yearly Budget and quarterly Forecast exercises, file preparation, deadline management and analysis of the bottom up input from the Sales and Marketing departments. Audit : Support the accounts team in audit preparations. Management support: Support the local management in all matters that relate to creating visibility of the YTD performance with a full P&L management in terms of analysis and control . Reporting: Assist the Finance manager in the monthly reporting process to the head office Price builds : Manage the price build process with creation of new templates for new business opportunities to show bottom line profit for each new deal, this in cooperation with the Sales management. Procedures: Analyze existing procedures in place in the finance team in cooperation with the Finance manager and Finance Director. Propose improvements for increased efficiency and control on existing procedures. Experience ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant OR currently studying , with experience in a commercial or similar environment. Experience with accounting software Have a flare for numbers, work well with people, aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to group deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods. Able to work under pressure. Good Excel skills, ability to work with vlookups and pivot tables. Good Word and Outlook skills. Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills and a great team player. Experience of managing a small team. Able to delegate, supervise, manage and motivate team members.
