After a period of significant growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll and Benefits Officer to join the firm on a fixed-term basis. This is an internal, customer-facing role, working closely with the Payroll, HR and Finance teams. Position: Payroll and Benefits Officer

Based in St Fagans, Cardiff (CF5) Contract Type: 6 months fixed term contract, Full Time Reporting to: Finance Manager Key

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the end to end processing of the payroll, ensuring that all staff are paid on time and accurately, together with ensuring that all internal and statutory payroll requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
• Leading the upgrade of the payroll systems to promote operational efficiency, assisting in the selection and introduction of a replacement payroll software package
• Ensuring all HR/Payroll files and data systems are accurate, updated and are compliant with GDPR
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR and Payroll systems and practices
• Work closely with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll-related processes and policies
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulatory/tax authorities and internal controls
• Management and delivery of payroll accounting including reporting and year end processes
• Providing an excellent customer service to employees who have payroll questions or issues
• Support audit requests Skills and Experience: Strong UK payroll experience. International exposure would be advantageous Sound working knowledge of Excel and SAP are essential Up to date knowledge of employment, pension and payroll legislation Experience of implementing a new payroll system Experience in a high growth company Thorough knowledge of Compensation & Benefits Strong communication skills Experience of working with senior stakeholders, HR, finance and HMRC Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Driven, self-motivated and highly flexible team player Educated to degree level or equivalent - ideally in HR/ Management/ Finance/ Accounting Please be aware that this role is only open to direct applications and any speculative applications from agencies will not be accepted.
