Description of the Role: The Payroll Specialist takes responsibility of all elements of the payroll by being the subject matter expert for the department. They will be responsible for building and maintaining successful customer relationships and for providing specialist advice to business partners and managers. They will have a responsibility to help grow and develop the teams overall payroll knowledge. Responsibilities include: Due to the nature of the role and the growth of the service, responsibilities will evolve as required however they are expected to include: § Have an extensive working knowledge of relevant payroll and HR legislation § Deliver a first class service to our customers and support the knowledge within the team § Be the first point of contact for all customer escalations. Owning, managing and resolving them § Develop product knowledge to implement chargeable changes requested by customers § Work closely with the implementation team to ensure a smooth transition from implementation to go live, including contributing to the build, parallel run and final go live stages of projects § Improve and maintain compliance especially in regards to GDPR and audit § Identify and implement continuous improvements § Complete, in a timely manner, all departmental and company complex payroll tasks § Be fully competent in managing and completing End of Year and P11D tasks § Ensure that all activities are delivered as contracted and manage customer expectations professionally to ensure that all services are delivered within SLA § Maintain and produce required KPI's § Produce and develop quarterly customer service review packs § Develop and maintain relationships with customers, business partners and external agencies including HMRC § Support the Payroll Manager with any ad-hoc tasks as required § Be able to pick up any other payroll activities as and when required Core competencies / skills: § To be fully compliant with all UK legislation, statutory monthly and yearly requirements § Competent with all UK complexities, including different terms and conditions and treatment of elements § Experience of different pension schemes, salary sacrifice schemes and auto enrolment § Highly motivated and driven, with excellent communication skills and a track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction § Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with an ability to handle multiple tasks § Must have outstanding Microsoft and IT skills § CIPP or equivalent qualifications is desirable Reimagine your Future by Joining the Advanced Team We hire for potential, and develop at pace.
