What you'll do Working as part of the Group Tax business unit you will provide support in the identification, delivery and implementation of tax projects (and associated tax risks) arising with the Group's evolving business model, with a particular focus on those associated, originated, developed and maintained by Group Technical and Sustainability. Your key responsibilities will include: Support the identification of tax risks and opportunities arising from the Group's evolving business model and assist in the development of solutions and actions as required to manage to deliver/ protect value for the Group in line with the Group's Tax Operating Framework. To focus particularly on supporting the management of tax risk and identification of tax opportunities arising from the Group's investment in new, breakthrough areas lead by Group T&S, such as new Technology, Data, Digital as well as other innovation and the associated development and deployment of Intellectual Property in the group. Provide appropriate tax support to relevant parts of the Group, including functions with Group T&S with a view to identifying risk and opportunities and developing and implementing advice and/ or solutions as appropriate. Setting the health, safety and environmental expectations for your team and monitoring behaviour so that it meets the required standards What we're looking for Confident and credible, you'll need to: Have demonstrable experience managing a variety of stakeholders across business functions and geographies Good working knowledge of international tax principles, transfer pricing and tax residencies Analyse a whole host of information and extract the pertinent facts and make a sound tax analysis thereof Be comfortable dealing with technical concepts and making firm decisions in the face of ambiguity Ability to strategically develop and implement a project plan Demonstrate well-developed analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills Demonstrate a high degree of commercial acumen Manage multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines Demonstrate high-level skills in the use of spreadsheet and other computer applications for analysis and reporting It would also be an advantage if you have: Have experience working in a corporate tax function within an innovative sector e.g. Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Oil and Gas Experience managing projects with globally dispersed teams Who we are Anglo American is a globally diversified mining business.
