Vargo has an exclusive opportunity for a newly qualified Reporting Accountant to join a leading financial services client based in Cardiff. Reporting to the Regulatory Reporting Manager within the Group Finance team, the remit of this role covers asset and investment reporting, alongside Solvency II regulatory reporting, monitoring and analysis. The role requires a motivated and hardworking candidate with strong analytical, time management and organisational skills and a focus on data quality and control. Candidates will be recently qualified in a recognised accounting qualification, ideally with experience of financial reporting and/or regulatory processes. RESPONSIBILITIES Review and process treasury returns from the Group's subsidiaries and investment holding reports from external fund managers Reconcile asset reporting to accounting results and proactively research differences, working with colleagues in multiple locations Contribute to the delivery and enhancement of monthly and quarterly Investment Management Information to the Investment Committee and the Group's and subsidiary boards Provide solvency reporting input to regular monthly Management Information prepared by the Group Finance team for the Group and subsidiary boards Contribute to the preparation of the Group's Solvency II reporting to the Group's regulators (the PRA in the UK for the Group and UK regulated subsidiary and the Gibraltar FSC for the Group's Gibraltar regulated subsidiary) on a quarterly and annual basis Assist in the preparation of the Group's Annual SFCR (Solvency and Financial Condition Report) Develop and maintain good relationships with the wider finance, risk and actuarial teams Work closely with the actuarial reserving and capital teams on regular data quality assessment exercises Perform an active role in the finance department and provide additional support as and when required for department managers The ideal candidate would need to be a recently qualified Accountant with ACA, CIMA or ACCA who has a strong academic background and experience of working within the Financial Services industry. With strong interpersonal skills, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively and influence all types of people at all levels of management. Successful candidates need to be self-motivated and pro-active in all aspects of the role. Microsoft Excel skills are essential along with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
