Hays Senior Finance is working with a leading group in the Dundee area, seeking an experienced Finance Manager to provide a comprehensive financial service to the group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant to become a key member of the senior management team in a well-known, Public Sector body who are a fast-growing business currently expanding in the national area.
Your new role
You will take on a role at Management Level responsible for playing a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of the full finance function across the growing group, You will report directly to the Finance Director ensuring that all financial information is relevant and delivered in an accurate and timely manner. You will be responsible for the timely production of budgetary and financial information in line with deadlines set by funders and other relevant statutory regulations.
Going into further detail on your responsibilities, your main duties will include; The preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts as well as statutory accounts across the group. You will lead by example and support 2 direct reports and oversee the effective production of all accounting functions including, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, cashbook, management accounts and payroll. You will also be responsible for assessing financial feasibility for new business initiatives and reviewing tenders with an expectation to provide guidance and recommendations. A heavy emphasis will be put on financial business partnering both internally and with external customers and funding partners including auditors.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an accountant with previous experience working for a large corporate organisation or knowledge of preparing and consolidating accounts at group level. You will be fully Qualified Accountant although qualified by experience will be considered if strong experience is shown. A strong knowledge of financial accounting for a large business is essential with experience working within the Public or Third Sector a distinct advantage. You will have a have a proven track of budgeting and preparing group accounts & reports. A confident communicator with strong, demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills, you will have experience liaising with external funders, lenders and other financial institutions.
