An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Audit Senior to join a respected independent practice in Northampton. The firm is growing quickly and are looking for someone with the drive and determination to help influence and progress their ambitious Audit team. You will have the opportunity to undertake audits for a broad range of clients across a variety of sectors, including owner managed businesses and the not for profit sector. Core Responsibilities Lead client audit engagements (planning, directing and completion of audits) Supervise small teams Research and analyse financial statements and audit related issues Produce statutory accounts and draft tax computations Acquire a working knowledge of the client's business Obtain a thorough understanding of HAT methodology Monitor the progress of jobs to ensure that budgets are met Sign off audit sections, address any issues and complete files before passing on to relevant managers Draft client letters Proactively interact with key client's management to gather information, resolve problems and make recommendations for business and process improvements The above responsibilities are not definitive Skills & Experience Essential ACA/ACCA qualified with a demonstrable track record of audit experience in an accountancy practice Excellent technical knowledge of accounting standards, auditing standards, corporation tax, VAT and P11Ds Working knowledge of integrated accounts production and paperless audit software Meticulous attention to detail Desirable Knowledge of Caseware, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero, Alphatax and CCH Working knowledge of HAT audit methodology Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments with multiple clients within time constraints and deadlines Demonstrable experience of supervising other and delegation of work Confident project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Apply directly or contact Max Evans at AJ Chambers for further information relating to this Audit Senior position.
