Do you like working in a dynamic environment? Do you consider yourself collaborative? Want to be the sole person responsible for finance within a tech business? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you. You would be joining a London-based technology company who are currently looking for a Commercial Financial Controller to join them at an exciting time on their journey. The company makes B2B software for field-based small businesses across the UK, as well as providing the services and operational support to maximise the value of the software to its customers. They have already completed a seed round and a venture round, backed by top-tier VCs, and they are generating impressive revenue growth monthly. In the last year, the team has quadrupled in size and is spread across various regions in the UK. About the role: You will report directly to the CEO, who has a background in both private equity and investment banking. He is very approachable and has a proven track record in mentoring employees. From day one, you'll be entrusted with the entire finance operation, so you'll need to be comfortable getting stuck in. This is a varied role, which will require an adaptable candidate who can take on ad-hoc tasks. You might be controlling relationships with vendors or dealing with high level stakeholders, ensuring all relationships are working to benefit the company. You will be expected to take commercial ownership of the business model, making crucial decisions with regards to the strategy of the business. Ideally, you will have a strong attention to detail and be able to spot opportunities to drive growth in the business. To succeed in this dynamic environment, you will need to be highly resilient and able to adapt with constant change and challenge. What you will be doing: Business partnering across divisions Working with the CEO on KPIs and discussing the validity of different items to include in metrics Conducting financial analysis to improve financial and operating performance Maintaining strong relationships with vendors Working on analysis through KPIs to decipher the optimal pricing for the business Preparing consolidated monthly management accounts with analysis and commentaries Helping with future rounds of fundraising Carrying out VAT submissions and financial reporting About you: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) qualified accountant An investment banking background would be desirable Extensive modelling experience is essential Prior experience working in a start-up or SME businesses would be advantageous Hands on experience with management accounts and the month-end is essential If this role sounds like a strong match to your skill set, please send over a copy of your CV.
