Stephenson Harwood are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join our Accounts team. The London accounts team currently comprises of 28 employees and is headed up by Simon Griffith, the Director of Accounts, who reports into Joanna Theodosiadou, the worldwide Director of Finance. The team is made up of several discrete sections: management accounts; purchase ledger; partners' personal accounting; credit control; cashiering and billing. The Management Accountant will report into Ben Clayton, the Senior Management Accountant, who heads up the management accounts team. There will also be frequent liaison with Simon Griffith and Joanna Theodosiadou. Main responsibilities Preparing of monthly Management Accounts Preparing of monthly and annual cash flow forecasts Assisting with the London annual budgeting and forecasting process Regularly liaising with our International office finance managers Providing support with P&L reporting, cash flow forecasting and intercompany account reconciliations Assisting with the preparation of LLP's tax computation and PAYE Settlement Agreement schedules Reviewing the London office bank reconciliations Authorising supplier invoices, staff expense claims and bank payments Preparing bank covenant calculations Providing figures to assist the annual partner appraisal process Assisting with the testing and development of new financial reports Preparing quarterly & annual legal surveys and National Statistics reports Preparing ad hoc management information Reviewing the work of the assistant management accountants and developing their accounting skills Attributes / skills required Experience of preparing monthly management accounts Strong excel skills A flexible, professional and proactive attitude Able to use own initiative and challenge work practices Strong communication and inter-personal skills and excellent team player Be flexible to do any additional hours when necessary to meet task deadlines Education and experience Qualified or part qualified accountant The individual should have experience of the legal or professional services environment Please note that we do not accept speculative applications from agencies.
