Purpose of the Role: The purpose of the Audit Support Assistant role is to provide support towards the successful completion of external audit requirements within agreed timescales in relation to IBA transactions and balances. Job Description: Prepare audit evidence through the analysis, investigation and presentation of information relevant to IBA transactions and balances in support of samples selected as part of external audit requirements, to agreed timescales. External audit requirements will include client money, statutory and insurer audits. Ensure that IBA and Towergate management are kept aware of audit progress and issues. Develop broad knowledge of IBA processes and support the other IBA teams by deputising as required for colleagues in other teams. Working with internal and external stakeholders, where possible, innovate and improve audit processes for future use. Fulfil your responsibilities in line with agreed processes in order to achieve agreed objectives, and in doing so, ensure compliance with the client and insurer money rules within the FCA Handbook. Able to identify the causes of process inefficiencies and drive improvements to reduce exceptions / errors Willingness to learn and develop, taking a proactive approach to own development in current job Essential Criteria - Must be clearly demonstrated on CV Knowledge of CASS 5 or previous experience of working in a regulated financial services environment Degree educated or equivalent in Finance or Accounting Also essential Demonstrable initiative, proactivity, enquiring approach, resourcefulness Adaptability, ability to embrace and respond positively to change Analytical and investigative skills, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, both individually and collaboratively Ability to work under pressure Ability to quickly learn and work with new processes and systems Flexibility of working practices, priorities and hours to meet business demands Strong written and oral communication skills Microsoft Excel skills to intermediate level, including lookups and pivots Desirable Some knowledge of CASS 5 or previous experience of working in a regulated financial services environment preferred Some previous financial control experience in a regulated financial services environment essential; and insurance sector preferred Intermediate Excel skills and experience of general ledger accounting systems Previous experience of working in a regulated environment preferred Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) preferable but not essential Previous experience in financial control; insurance industry preferred Please apply online - no agencies
