Global FMCG Organisation is currently seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join their expanding business. The Commercial Finance Analyst would work across functional stakeholders, providing reports and supporting analysis. With outputs to identify areas of insight and opportunity that help deliver against brand and commercial objectives. The Commercial Finance Analyst will use and bring together various data sets that provide greater understanding on the performance of brands. You will utilise internal sales, market and retailer EPOS data to analyse the actual vs forecasted sales to provide the business with a greater understanding of brand performance, brand profitability and account sales In addition the Commercial Financial Analyst would be supporting marketing. Business partnering the Marketing team to improve understanding of their P&Ls, challenge performance and make recommendations to improve sales and margin Analysis and review of trade promotional spends, understanding current activities, and required accruals, and working with the Commercial Finance Manager to monitor those accruals and costs arising to ensure accurate trade spend accounting. Month-end accounting support particularly around A&P accruals as well as month-end reporting and analysis Take ownership of promotional evaluation process, ensuring the integrity and robustness of promotional data is maintained Support the marketing and commercial teams to input robust monthly forecasts as well as the annual Budget Manage EPOS data reporting on a weekly basis Improve processes to ensure data and reporting is created and distributed in an efficient manner Build strong, collaborative relationships across key stakeholder groups including Marketing, Sales and Finance. Ad hoc financial accounting and reporting support to the Finance team as required Knowledge and Experience Key attributes: Exceptional commercial sense, ability to see bigger picture in key business transactions whilst producing accurate and timely financial information. Drive and self-motivation, the ability to get on with tasks at hand without supervision. A hands-on team player, necessary in a small company environment. Effective communication skills, and the ability to work well with others at all levels across functions The ability to work to tight timescales and deadlines. Experience/Skills Required: Intermediate/advanced level of Excel is essential Good commercial understanding, knowledge of sales and marketing activities and terminology Understanding of accruals accounting. Part qualified accountant or looking to begin studies. (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) Experience within a FMCG environment a bonus
