As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will be accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company and the ongoing development of control systems designed to enhance Laxcon's reputation as a progressive main contractor within the construction industry. You will innovate the financial function of the business, streamline processes and develop strategies which will cater for the Company's anticipated period of growth over the next 5 years. Role

Responsibilities:
Oversee company-wide budgetary planning Ensure that all the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation Interpret complex financial information and provide reports as needed Assess and innovate processes to drive the business forward Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions Supervise a team in the facilitation of day-to-day operations including tracking financial data, invoicing and payroll, etc. streamlining processes wherever possible Prepare official reports on a monthly, annual and ad-hoc basis Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants Update and implement financial policies and procedures Maintain a policy manual for the finance department Work with human resources to secure candidates who will be an asset to the finance department and to implement a training program for new finance employees Preparation of year end statutory accounts Prepare Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports together with all other associated breakdown reports for auditing purposes Full responsibility for audit process, liaising with external auditors and filing Approval of draft accounts liaising with the board Responsibility for statutory accounts filed with Companies House and Inland Revenue Respond to financial queries from external clients and lessees Skills and Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CFA, ACCA, CIMA) 5 to 10 years' experience demonstrating consistent growth Excellent mathematical skills combined with management experience Construction background (commercial or residential) ideally in an SME or midsize company or division of a larger group High Integrity with an understanding of data privacy standards Advanced Excel skills Exceptional communicator with superior attention to detail and organisational skills Identify fields which can be explored for the growth of the company A minimum of 5 years' experience in senior positions within finance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Office-based with occasional travel A Master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field (preferred) We do not discriminate.
