A truly great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a hugely successful warehousing and distribution business in the Peterborough area on a full time permanent basis. The company has experienced unprecedented growth over the last 24 months, and with further ambitious expansion plans, they require an aspiring individual to support the business in the capacity of Bookkeeper. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and finance requirements of the business where confidentiality, excellent organisational skills and accuracy are essential. Good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly with an ability to multi-task, and work to demanding deadlines, under pressure will be required. It is essential that you have exceptional online SAGE experience and are a competent user of EXCEL, In addition, you must have a good understanding of making payments to Government bodies (i.e. PAYE, VAT etc.) Further duties will include balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers, matching purchase orders with invoices, coordinating bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management, monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts, pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances, develop monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and prepare quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes. There will be a high degree of autonomy within this role, and would suit an individual who is looking to take that next career step within the financial field. Relevant accounting qualifications will be an advantage, but those qualified by experience will also be very much of interest.
