About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role Credit Control Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the Credit Control function as well as playing a key role to the wider Finance team. The expectation is that this role works not only with the Finance team but also with the wider business on improving the overall collection process and customer communications. The Credit Control Manager will be expected to introduce appropriate improvements to the credit control governance processes as appropriate to RMS as well as overseeing the day to day operations. This role is ideal for someone who has strong team leadership skills and requires both technical expertise and honed communication skills. The preferred candidate will be experienced, restless for improvement, and someone who enjoys working with in a dynamic customer focused and fast paced environment. Key

responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the credit control operation for the company Ensure that the current credit control process is fit for purpose and that the standard communications are appropriate and kept up to date (working with the Marketing and Customer Services teams as appropriate) Manage relationships with third party collection agencies to ensure that the business is extracting maximum value Daily review and ownership of team targets and KPIs: amounts collected, call volumes etc with follow ups to ensure performance is monitored and documented Preparation of working reports for credit control team and allocation of accounts between the team to maximise collection rates Ensure tracking of accounts through credit control process with ability to report on current status of accounts Preparation of weekly operational review of credit control performance including status of accounts in process Responsibility for provision of monthly estimated volume of closed accounts to Retentions team and explanation of subsequent variance Manage the progress of customers who we have taken to court and assess whether it is cost effective to take legal action Ensure that terminal collection arrears are tracked and chased as appropriate Manage the relationship between the Credit Control function and the key stakeholders in the wider business including Customer Loyalty (Grimsby), Terminal Estates, Customer Services and Customer Success Building, managing and developing the team, setting of personal and team objectives and goals that support both business priorities and individual development plans Skills & Experience: Strong team management skills with ability to demonstrate success in building, training, mentoring and developing team members Proven success working within an operational finance role (and ideally a credit control function) and ability to demonstrate implementation of improvements within a maturing internal control environment in a fast-growing business Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills (both written and oral), preferably with commercial exposure in previous roles Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. sales, finance, operations, marketing Proven self-starter with experience of being able to work independently, juggling and prioritising across workloads and consistently meeting deadlines Strong track record of team leadership Strong attention to detail, yet also showing ability to surface the key material issues Advanced knowledge of Excel with experience of manipulating large datasets and modelling skills (pivot tables, filtering , lookups etc) Experience with financial management and statutory reporting would be advantageous (but not essential) Experience with FinancialForce and SalesForce would be advantageous but not essential PERSON SPECIFICATION: Positive proactive can do work ethic Ability to work autonomously Ability to prioritise across many different tasks To have a friendly and approachable attitude to work To be flexible and adaptable and self-motivated worker Effective at planning and organising Good communicator Thorough and analytical Ability to learn quickly
