An opportunity to join an international Aerospace and Defence company as a Pensions Specialist for a contract until the end of 2020, our client ideally wants to make the successful candidate permanent. As a Pensions Specialist in this company, you will be based in the Stevenage office, with regular travel to Portsmouth and occasional travel to Toulouse, France. You will provide local operational support in pensions benefit delivery (ill-healths, deaths, discretions etc); assist resolution of queries, complaints & disputes in relation to local pension issues to enable proper exercise of discretionary benefit options; respond to and resolve employee pension queries to a satisfactory outcome and to mitigate risk to the scheme and business.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee key suppliers involved in making the pensions processes work effectively, included multi-site internal and external payroll and finance teams, manage the relationships with the Trustee Boards' third-party administrators (included review of stewardship reporting/monitoring against SLA's) in order to achieve An efficient pensions operation to deliver key administration services on behalf of the Airbus pension scheme trustees and employer entities
• Point of contact for member engagement, queries & assistance with operational delivery on pensions; running group sessions, 12-1s; liaison with external administrators and signposting towards guides and tools to support to HR networks and employees on all operational individual pension related matters for certain business entities; including pro-active communication campaigns
• Support the Trustee in considering proposed changes to the Scheme Rules, develop policies and procedures, including implementation and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate policies to comply with trustee decisions, legislation and interpretation of pension scheme rules; putting policies into practical operational procedures
• Oversee risk & compliance matters; ensure effectiveness of risk register & internal controls; supervise activity in this area; responsible for GDPR and trustee policies to comply with adequate internal controls to mitigate risk to the business and trustees; report on effectiveness of controls to trustees Skills:
• Assistant pension's manager if running in house or in a consulting background a pension's consultant. Senior administrators would be ideal as well.
• Must be company pensions and defined benefit/ final salary company pension experience is essential
• Administration of pensions in house or external. Part of this job is to manage the external advisors
• Communications pensions/ member facing is key as well. Having the ability to talk to individuals employees on pensions
• Technical knowledge of pensions as it requires knowledge of how company pensions work as highly regulated. Likely to be in a management level. They will be helping design policy and managing stakeholders to design scheme
