Pratap Partnership are working with a large PLC in Sheffield who are looking to recruit for a Group Financial Accountant. This is an exciting time to be joining the business and joining a vibrant and brilliant Group Finance team. The Group Financial Controller is energetic and positive and a great mentor to the team Overview of the role; The financial reporting team is responsible for external reporting, and leads the relationship with the auditors. The role holder will play a key role in the interim and year end consolidation process and external financial reporting. Interim and annual consolidation - support the Senior Group Financial Accountant with preparation of the group consolidation, including recording of journals, management of the intercompany reconciliation process and preparation of working papers External financial reporting - direct involvement in the preparation of the interim results announcement and the Annual Report and Account Group accounting policies - liaison with operating companies across the group to ensure compliance with group accounting policies and to ensure effective roll out of changes to policies Key point of contact for the external auditors - preparation of supporting working papers, discussion with the auditors and monitoring of group deliverables Technical input - keep up to date with IFRS developments and support the Group Financial Reporting team in the implementation of new accounting standards and other financial reporting projects Statutory accounts preparation - preparation of statutory accounts and ixbrl tagging for subsidiary entities Overview of expectations; The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical background. the ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet tough deadlines, with high attention to detail the ability to communicate complex and technical points clearly both verbally and in writing excellent skills in MS office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word a commitment to high personal and professional standards Overview of benefits; Bonus and PLC extra benefits package, 25 days holiday, flexible working, canteen, modern new offices, brilliant team and very supportive line manager This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/86767959
