The Company: Well established, friendly and forward thinking. The Position: This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to build a career in finance/accounting but who has not yet had any formal training. The company will train and develop you and assist financially with examinations. The main requirement is that you're happy to study for a 1st line accounting qualification. The primary initial responsibilities will be to work with purchase invoices (obtaining authorisation, coding and entering them onto the system), processing employee expense returns and coordinating BACS payments. You will also input sales invoices, distribute them accordingly, allocate and input cash receipts and prioritise and chase outstanding balances and update debtor reports. You will produce routine reconciliations, resolve queries and investigate variances, assist with audit and tax fieldwork and support the finance department with other corporate tasks. The Person: You don't need any relevant finance department experience as full training will be given but basic knowledge of office procedures would be advantageous. You will need a good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. You will have a strong work ethic a willingness to learn and the ability to progress quickly. You will need a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail with solid problem-solving skills. You will have a methodical way of working, the ability to prioritise work and have confident communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You must have at least 5 GCSE's all above grade C including Maths and English (2 A levels are preferred), and the desire and willingness to complete a 1st line accounting qualification. You will also need your own transport as the company aren't on a route served by public transport. The commencing salary is between £ 18,000 and £ 22,000 per annum plus good holidays and benefits and a bonus which can add up to 10% to your basic salary.
